DOMESTIC TERRORISM

In the United States, acts of domestic terrorism are generally considered to be uncommon.
According to the FBI, however, between the years of 2000 and 2014, 250 of the 335 incidents
confirmed as or suspected to be terrorist acts in the United States were carried out by American
citizens.
Was the Oklahoma City bombing a random act of violence, or was it a taste of a new style of
warfare against government? Do contemporary extremist groups see government authority figures
as enemies? What are the key warning signs of potentially violent extremist groups? This course
provides state and local law enforcement officers with an orientation to domestic
terrorism/extremist groups and provides safety techniques for dealing with the challenges
these groups pose.

GANGS 101

This training is designed to supplement ongoing training efforts or to serve as a starting point for
agencies that wish to engage in more training both inside and outside their organizations. The
nation has seen an explosion of gang involvement that has affected not only crime rates but the
disintegration of families. There are many theories as to how gang dynamics in communities and
individuals develop ranging from single parent households to the powerful influence of the media.
Ranking-in, drive-bys, and colors are common terms in the world of gang members and not so
readily definable by the general public.
This presentation will provide officers with Gang information, theories of gang
development, national/state/Native American trends, current gang intervention programs, and
much more.
